


With Churchill's sentiment in mind, the Trustees of Ulster Savings Bank decided in 2001, Ulster Savings Bank's 150th anniversary, to create and sustain a charitable foundation. While funded through Ulster Savings Bank, the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation is operated separately based on a mission to assist the community in the areas of:
Currently, the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation has three programs it operates to fulfill its mission and to help build stronger communities.
Community Grant Program: Tax-exempt, not-for-profit organizations located in Ulster, Dutchess, and Greene Counties may be eligible to apply for grants for programs and projects that provide service or benefits to the residents of their respective counties. Scholarship Awards Program: Residents of Ulster, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, or Columbia Counties who are attending or will be attending an accredited college located in one of these counties as an undergraduate student are eligible to apply for a Scholarship Award. Please look for our scholarship applications for the next funding cycle in January of 2011.
Learning Initiatives for Educators (L.I.F.E.) Grants: The purpose of these grants is to provide opportunities for teachers of Grades K through 12 in all public, private, and parochial schools that are New York State licensed and certified within Ulster County and the Windham-Ashland-Jewett & Hunter-Tannersville School Districts in Greene County to provide further educational opportunities for students, enhance the professional development of teachers, and to involve students in community service activities.
